Anemia develops when the number of red blood cells in the blood is low or when they are free of hemoglobin, an iron-rich protein.
As you may know, red blood cells are responsible for transporting oxygen to all organs of the body. Hence the importance of fighting anemia from the very first moment.
In addition to fatigue and lack of energy, there are other symptoms that will help you to check out this possible situation. Lack of oxygen will have these main consequences:
- Headache and chest pain.
- Dizziness, lack of balance.
- Respiratory difficulties.
- Cold in the extremities.
- Pale skin.
- Weak memory.
These symptoms usually go unnoticed. But remember that it is always important to pay attention to the signs that your body manifests in order to prevent anemia and treat it in time.
Iron deficiency anaemia (or “sideropenic” anaemia) is the most common. The human body needs this nutrient to produce red blood cells and hemoglobin. Hemoglobin contains oxygen.
This is why it is important for the diet to include iron-rich foods, as well as folic acid, vitamin B12 and proteins. These nutrients can also be obtained from dietary supplements.
Reasons that can lead to low iron levels:
Bad diet. You must follow a healthy and balanced diet that ensures the correct need for iron in the body.
Bleeding or bleeding. It is more common in women, because of menstruation or bleeding during childbirth. However, injuries and leaks can also occur in the digestive tract.

- Lentils and onions. An ideal combination, because both are iron-rich foods. In addition, the onion contains vitamin C, necessary to absorb iron of plant origin.
- Garlic soup. This bulb can be bought in any store or supermarket and is an excellent source of iron. To prepare it, brown the garlic with the onion and paprika, add water and bring to a boil over medium heat. Drink the broth twice a day.
- Pumpkin. It contains high values of iron, as well as vitamin C, potassium, magnesium and many fibers.
- Vegetable juice with spinach, carrots, watercress, turnip and radishes. Drink it twice a day and we assure you that the amount of red blood cells will increase.
- Egg, lemon and molasses. In a blender pour the yolk of an egg, the juice of a lemon and a tablespoon of cane molasses. Drink it once a day, three times a week.
- Celery. Cut the stem into two pieces, adding a cup of hot milk. Let the preparation rest for 5 or 10 minutes and drink it once a day.
- Pear and apricot smoothie. Wash the pear and remove the seeds. Put the pieces of pear and the pieces of apricot or peach in a blender and then add the milk. Stir well and drink this shake once a day, for 10 days.
- Apple with lemon balm. In a litre of boiling water, add one or two sliced apples and a handful of lemon balm leaves. Let the preparation rest for 10 minutes and then add the juice of a lemon. Sweeten with cinnamon and honey. Drink once a day, for a month.
